Last night, the heartbreaking news of the demise of legendary actor and comedian Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, popularly known as his stage name Jagdeep, had hit the web. An 81 years old Jagdeep was reportedly suffering from a prolonged illness and breathed his last in Mumbai. He was the father of popular brother duo Jaaved Jaaferi and Naved Jafri. As per reports, the veteran actor's last rites are slated to take place today, at 11 am at Mazgaon Mustafa Bazaar burial ground in Mumbai.

A couple of pictures of Jaaved Jaaferi leaving to attend his father Jadgeep's last rites have surfaced on social media and they are every bit heartbreaking. It sees a visibly devastated Jaaved in a white shirt and black pants. He had covered his head and was sporting a mask. One of the pictures also saw Jaaved wiping his tears. He was extremely close to his father.

Several Bollywood stars mourned the death of Jagdeep's demise and thanked him for his immense contribution as an actor and entertainer. Ajay Devgn tweeted, “Heard the sad news of Jagdeep Saab’s demise. Always enjoyed watching him on screen. He brought so much joy to the audience. My deepest condolences to Jaaved and all members of the family. Prayers for Jagdeep Saab’s soul.”



Johny Lever, too, got emotional. He wrote, “My first film & the first time I ever faced the camera, was in the film #yehrishtanatoote with the legend himself #Jagdeep bhai. We will miss you...May his soul rest in peace Our prayers & deepest condolences to the family,” while Hansal Mehta tweeted, “Condolences @jaavedjaaferiand to the entire family. He will always be cherished and remembered with a broad smile. I hope people get to see a film called Muskurahat by Priyadarshan sir to witness his brilliance. It is one of my favorite Jagdeep saahab performances.”
